Buchlyvie Community Council is a non-political, non-sectarian body elected by the community to ascertain, co-ordinate and reflect the views of the community it represents in dealings with higher bodies ( eg Stirling Council), other community groups in the local area and, where appropriate, other bodies with interests in Buchlyvie. In doing so it will always aim to take action which will be in the best interests of the community. The council consists of up to 8 members and elections are held every three years. Anyone resident in the community aged 18 or over can serve on the council and two additional places are held open for youth members aged under 18.
The council meets every alternate month (starting in February) in the village hall. All normal meetings are open to members of the public. Agendas and minutes of meetings are displayed on the village notice board and all previous minutes are available on Buchlyvie pages of the Stirling Council website *. If a member of the public wishes a particular item to be raised the Secretary should be notified before the meeting though this is not essential. Urgent items can be raised with any member of the council at any time. The current office holders with telephone numbers are: Chairman, Ian Bremner 01360 850020; Secretary: Bill McCreath.
* Please note that the Stirling Council website will not display the minutes of the most recent meeting until they have been ratified by a subsequent meeting.
